Maximizing Your Blackjack Earnings Without Counting Cards

Posted on October 19, 2021 by Lucien Halfacre

Blackjack has some of the best odds in the casino. The house's advantage is about 1/2 of 1 percent. BUT, the casinos still make a killing. The house has these odds against a player using basic strategy. Most players do not use basic strategy, and this is one reason why the casinos reap huge profits. Basic strategy is a simple set of rules for playing your dealt cards against the dealers up card. Most casino gift shops will sell "basic strategy" tip cards. Or you can find charts online. So my first step is to use basic strategy. This will reduce the houses advantage greatly and is a solid foundation for maximizing your blackjack earnings.

The next step is choosing the blackjack table with the best chances. A crucial principle in card counting and blackjack odds is greater value cards (10's) assist the participant and reduce value cards hurt the player. The main reason is that the dealer MUST reach to a 17 or higher. With more higher cards that the dealer will bust more and the player will win. So make sure you play tables offering fewer decks, avoid 6 deck games and play with 1 or 2 deck games if available.

The next step is don't raise your bet due to"gut" feelings. Improve your bet as it is most optimal for you. How can you do this without counting cards? I call it tracking cards. If you discover that an overwhelming majority of the cards dealt on the previous hand were low cards, then increase your bet on the next hand. This will be effective on a single or double deck game. And you wont win each time and therefore don't go mad with your bet. On the long run you'll see results. Which brings me to my forth measure.

The fourth step is to maintain records. I have a small pocket notebook I keep blackjack documents in. You need to see that blackjack can have great swings. You may win for days straight and then shed for a week straight. But if you maintain records you can see exactly what your profit are over the long term. I write down what I started with and what I ended with, and how long it took.

The fifth measure is DON'T deviate. For those who have a 16 against a dealers 10 hit every time, do not stand due to a"gut" feeling. The casinos make countless those gut feelings! Always split and twice when basic strategy requires it. This is were you make your cash.
